Barcelona refuses to surrender in the Bernardo Silva deal and is preparing for a new step

Barcelona’s management plans to reintroduce an offer to buy Bernardo Silva in January, according to reports

Barcelona failed to try to sign Bernardo Silva from Manchester City, in the summer transfer window

They will continue their quest for the Portuguese playmaker, who has already scored two goals in his first six Premier League games this season

Despite their financial troubles, the Catalans managed to spend nearly £150m on new deals and signed Robert Lewandowski, Ravenha, Frank Kesey, Andrea Christensen, Jules Conde, Marcos Alonso and Hector Bellerin

Barcelona has also managed to raise £700m through the sale of various digital assets, making any possible deal for Silva possible

And according to the Spanish newspaper “Sport”, Xavi’s team can now add more without any fear of spending beyond its means

The latest report comes after Silva’s father confirmed that his son had held talks with Barcelona over the summer

Paulo Silva admitted that the move did not happen because “it was not the right time for all parties involved”

“There were a lot of talks but no concrete offer was made at the times when we thought they were right,” he said

He added: “When that came, we realized that it was no longer the right time for all parties involved, things had to happen rationally and it wasn’t the ideal scenario for Bernardo”

City coach Pep Guardiola said he would not stand in Silva’s way if he wanted to go, and stated: “He is our player, we want him to be with us because he is very important”

And he added: “Having said that, I don’t want anyone to be unhappy, but I don’t want him to leave because he is a superior player, he is one of the best players I have ever had, in any competition he is the best player”
