Barcelona is weighing 12 deals to succeed Lewandowski

Barcelona officials began moving early towards strengthening the attacking line with a new deal during the coming period.

The Catalan newspaper “Sport” reported that Barca is not currently facing a crisis in the spearhead position in light of the presence of Robert Lewandowski, and the possible arrival of the Brazilian, Vitor Roque, next January.

She added that Lewandowski’s contract with Barca expires in the summer of 2026, but there is a clause indicating that if he does not participate in 55% of the matches in the 2024/25 season, the club’s management has the right to terminate his contract.

She pointed out that the Polish star’s numbers in the Catalan team’s shirt appear convincing and good, as he scored 39 goals and made 12 assists for his teammates in 57 matches over the current and past seasons.

She also confirmed in the same context that Lewandowski’s presence did not prevent Barca officials from setting an agenda that includes several names to support the attacking line in the future.

Sport also pointed out that Barcelona is currently targeting players whose contracts will expire, and may have to pay a sum of money, if they have a good opportunity in the transfer market, in anticipation of the arrival of a tempting Saudi offer for Lewandowski, in the summer of next year 2024.

The newspaper published a list of 12 players on the agenda of Barcelona officials, such as the Nigerian duo Victor Osimhen (Napoli) and Victor Boniface (Bayer Leverkusen), Anthony Martial (Manchester United), Moise Kean (Juventus), Jonathan David (Lille), Youssef Moukoko (Dortmund), Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa) and Mehdi Taremi (Porto).

The list includes other less well-known names such as Santiago Jiménez (Feyenoord), Serho Djerassi (Stuttgart), Artem Dovbeck (Girona), and Ivan Ferguson (Brighton).
