Ilkay Gundogan, Barcelona midfielder, sent a message to his teammates, following the Clásico loss to Real Madrid
Gundogan said, in statements highlighted by the Spanish newspaper “Sport”: “I want to be honest, but without crossing the limits… I do not want to say anything that I should not say.”
He added: “I came from the locker room, and it is clear that people are disappointed, but after a very important match and an unsatisfactory result, I would like to see more anger.”
He added: “If you do not react to the result, it will be reflected on the field. We must take a very big step in this aspect, because if we do not (get angry), Real Madrid and even Girona could run away from us.”
He concluded: “I did not come here to lose this type of match or create such holes. I also have a responsibility as an experienced player not to allow the team to have such things happen.”
With this victory, Real Madrid raised its score to 28 points at the top of the standings, while Barcelona’s score froze at 24 points in third place.
