Greek club Olympiacos announced the signing of Colombian James Rodriguez, former Qatari Al Rayyan club player, to support the team’s ranks in the new season
The club wrote through its official account on the social networking site «Twitter»: «He is here! Welcome James Rodriguez to Olympiacos
The Colombian international previously played for major European clubs, including Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Monaco, Porto and Everton
But he has not participated much since his move to Qatar’s Al Rayyan due to injuries
After a season and a half in the Qatari league, James Rodriguez returns to European football to promote the Olympiacos team
“The 31-year-old Colombian midfielder has played for the best teams in the world,” the club added in a statement. In 2014, Real Madrid bought him from Monaco. He played 125 matches with the Spanish team, scored 37 goals and provided 42 assists. Then he moved to Bayern Munich from 2017 to 2019, and scored 15 goals and assisted 20 in 67 games, and in 2020 he signed with Everton and scored 6 goals with him in 26 games
Thus, James will join forces with his former Real Madrid colleague, Marcelo, who had joined the Greek club several days ago after his departure from the Royal Club
