At the Luis Companis Olympic Stadium, Real Madrid will be a heavy guest on its rival Barcelona, next Saturday evening in El Clásico, in the 11th round of La Liga competitions.
The young star Javi (19 years old), the Barcelona midfielder, is one of the most important weapons of his team, as he is distinguished by his strong style of play and sometimes violence against the opponent, especially in El Clásico matches.
For example, on March 19, during the 26th round of La Liga, Javi aroused the dissatisfaction and anger of Real Madrid players, after he attacked Dani Ceballos without the ball.
At that time, the Spanish press said that the trio, Nacho, Ceballos, and Carvajal, would speak with Javi during the national team’s camp, so as not to exacerbate the frequently recurring problem.
In the April 5 Clásico, for the semi-finals of the Spanish King’s Cup, Javi got into an altercation with Vinicius Junior, the Real Madrid star, after the Spaniard forcefully clashed with the Brazilian, before the players of both teams intervened to break up the clash.
Javi often mocked the negative results suffered by Real Madrid. After the defeat of Real Madrid against Girona last season (4-2), Javi mocked the Merengues by publishing a picture of him laughing, on his Instagram account, with sarcastic emojis.
This was repeated after Real Madrid’s defeat against Sociedad (2-0), when the Spanish League standings were published after the difference widened to a full 14 points, between Real Madrid and Barcelona.
All these frictions made Javi a target for the Madrid media, which always highlighted him, and he was even described as a “toxic personality” at times.
The Madrid fans also took advantage of the Spanish national team’s celebrations of winning the Nations League title last June, inside Real Madrid’s basketball court, to launch an attack with offensive chants at Javi, when they were speaking during the ceremony.
This is what prompted the Catalan club at the time to support its player, by publishing a picture of him through Barcelona’s official accounts on social networking sites.
During his career with Barcelona’s first team, Javi received more yellow cards against Real Madrid than any other club, as he received 3 warnings in 8 matches.
The Spanish international performed his best level in El Clasico, when he participated in the Spanish Super Cup final last January, and led Barca to win the title at the expense of the rival (3-1), as Javi scored the first goal and assisted the other two goals.
