Ancelotti on Rodrigo’s complaint: Camavinga did not tell me no

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti responded to the complaint of Rodrigo Goes, the Merengue striker, while he was with the Brazilian national team.

The Brazilian striker had confirmed that he did not like playing in the position of outright striker, pointing out that he had only played one match in this position this season with the Royal Club, and that he must give priority to the interest of the team over individual whims.

Ancelotti said, during the introductory press conference for the Seville match in Week 10 of La Liga: “It is important to know where he wants to play, because I have never put a player in a place where he does not like to play.”

He explained: “There are needs for the team that require some to sacrifice. Camavinga did that, and Tshuamini, and sometimes Rodrigo, who is a complete striker who can play as an outright striker.”

He added: “This season he played one match in this position, against Napoli. My idea is to meet the team’s interest first, and then the individual interest.”

He concluded: “It is clear that when I put Camavinga in the left-back position, I tell him and ask him. He did not tell me no.”
