Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti confirmed that he owes credit to Sergio Ramos, the former Merengue and current Sevilla defender, for his presence so far as the club’s coach.
Real Madrid is scheduled to host Sevilla tomorrow, Saturday, at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium, in the top of the matches of the tenth week of the Spanish League.
Ancelotti said, during the presentation conference: “I will be happy to see Ramos and welcome him. I have a special affection for him… If I am here today, it is thanks to him. If he had not been with me in the Champions League final in 2014, perhaps I would not have stayed here.”
Ramos scored a goal in the fatal last seconds in the 90+3 minute in the 2014 Champions League final against neighbor Atletico Madrid, so the two teams resorted to playing extra time, which tipped the balance in the favor of the Merengues, winning the title with a score of (4-1).
Ancelotti was asked about the possibility of Ramos celebrating against Real Madrid, and he replied: “Everyone loves him very much, and I am absolutely sure that he will have a good match. If he scores a goal, and I hope that does not happen, then he can do whatever he wants.”
Numerous reports have spread stating that Brazilian Rodrigo is complaining about playing in the clear spearhead position.
Regarding this, Carlito commented: “No one told me that he could not play in the role I asked of him. I once put Ramos as a spearhead and he did not like it, but it was the team’s needs.”
