Luis Suarez, the former Barcelona striker, conveyed his experience in the “Camp Nou” and his relationship with Argentine star Lionel Messi, the Paris Saint-Germain player
Suarez added about his last time with Barcelona: “We had a bad time, Leo suffered a lot, I never saw Messi cry like I saw him cry in Barcelona, it hurt him that period .. There was always uncertainty about the reason for all this, but fortunately I became Happy when I moved to Atletico Madrid”
The Nacional Montevideo player confirmed, in statements highlighted by the Spanish newspaper “Sport”: “When I arrived in Barcelona, I told Messi that I was coming to win, not to replace anyone. He realized that I was honest, and the relationship between us developed”
He noted, “What makes you happy at this stage is the happiness that the three of us (Messi, Neymar and Suarez) had when the goal came through the other two, and it highlights the humility that prevailed when it came to sharing things together”
He continued: “Messi and Neymar made me win the Golden Boot, Lionel allowed me to take penalties so I could win the award, or for example when they both reach the goal they determine where I am.. I appreciate that very much, there was no ego, the three of us were Happy, and the rest of the team ran for us because they knew it”
He continued: “In my last days I would go and train, but they send me to train separately. I suffered a lot and went home and cried because of the way they treated me. It was also a message that they wanted Messi to stay alone. It wasn’t us who caused what happened. It was because of chaos in the club”
“Hopefully we will be able to talk about Argentina and Uruguay reaching the World Cup final so we can enjoy the match, that would be great for South America”
