Miralem Pjanic reviewed the past few months as a FC Barcelona player and explained why he decided to sign for Sharjah FC. The Bosnian midfielder praised Xavi Hernandez, who managed to convince him of a good pre-season, and compared the intensity of his training sessions with Ronald Koeman. “I was very surprised because the training sessions with Koeman were so short, they didn’t have intensity, tactics or ideas we didn’t prepare the matches”
“Now I see the differences. Like at Juventus, the training sessions are very intense. Xavi was very clear with us. He said, ‘Here this year he will run and he will go fast 2000 hours in each training session,'” he added. And Pjanic indicated that his relationship with the current technical staff of Barcelona was “exceptional”. I remember Xavi was honest with me. He told me to stay. In pre-season, I showed that I had the quality to play for Barcelona and that was very important to me,” he added
But the Bosnian did not play anything in the first commitments of the season and decided to change the scene. “I knew I could offer something for Barcelona this season, but for me it is very difficult not to be in eleven. I felt that it would be complicated and that I would lack space to play,” he justified his last farewell. The decision was not easy. The big pain I feel is that I didn’t do what I wanted to do at Barcelona,” he concluded by speaking about his unsuccessful phase at Camp Nou.
